Responses

We are happy to post some of the responses we receive to the things on this site for a couple of reasons. The first is that other points of view add interest. The second is that we are not afraid of being challenged. We believe that what we are writing is the truth. If someone points out things wrong in what we have written and we agree with it then we will gladly change it.

We would like to hear from you. Send your letter to: info@churchinlondon.org

Hi,

Praise the Lord!! I wanted to send you an email and tell you how much I enjoyed your website stories :-) :-) Very well told, thank you for making them available :-) :-) You know I in particular loved the story of Cain and Abel on your website, the Lord led me to reading that story just before I read the epistle of Jude verse 10-11. "They are like senseless animals that end up getting destroyed, because they live only by their feelings. Now they are in for real trouble. They have followed Cain's example and have made the same mistake that Balaam did by caring only for money" The story really showed me that if we follow our own concepts even if we think in our minds we are doing good, without the Lord it leads to nothing good.

Have a great day and I look forward to visiting the church in London soon :-)

get off the net. don't you people get it that the web is the tree of knowledge of good and evil and you can't win your war here.

Reply:
You are probably right that we can't "win the war here" if you mean change the world or even the character of most of the discussion on the net. That is not our intention. We are trying to share our own enjoyment of God with others who are seeking Him.

It is nice to see the Lord on the net. There is always a witness prepared in every walk of life.

You Seem Rather Exclusive

You mention on your "response" page that you are not afraid to be challenged. That's good, and I hope you can answer a question or two for me in the future. I'm sure that you are aware that you have faced opposition in London, and I am encouraging you all to please Christ rather than men. However, there are a few statements throughout your webpage that seem rather exclusive, and to be honest, that sends off a few warning bells in my head. An example might be found on your history page, in reference to David and Elizabeth Wang's settlement in London: "They began to meet with a group of Chinese Christians but a brother came to visit from the church in Toronto and told them that the Lord would have no way to raise up a testimony here as long as they met that way." That's a pretty loaded statement, seemingly very against ecumenism, and without acknowledgement of the Lord's working in different areas of His body. What is your response for God's call to ecumenism?
