The first time you meet with someone who has just received the Lord you need to start off by putting the person at ease. Ask a few questions that encourage him to talk about himself. Use the opportunity to learn something about the person. After about 10 to 15 minutes you should bring the conversation around to spiritual things. You can do this by asking questions like, "Were you a Christian before?" "Do many people believe in the Lord where you are from?"Ask Him to Take Notes:
"I am going to give you a number of verses and points. It will be too much, too rich for you to remember anything. Do you have an exercise book that you can use for notes? Could you get it? Please write down the verses and the main points I share with you. Then you can review afterwards."Ask Him Not to Believe Your Speaking:
"I am not here to convince you of anything. I am here to help you touch the living Lord, Himself. When you experience the Lord then you will know that He is real. This is like electricity. You can't see electricity but when you touch it you know that it is real. Everyone will try to tell you that his things are good. How do you know what is real and what is not? You need to touch the Lord yourself, then you will know how real He is. I am here to help you touch the Lord."Cover the Matter of Being Born of God by Receiving Christ Jesus as Life:
Go over the verses and points concerning being born of God by receiving Christ Jesus as life. If these verses and points were used to bring him to receive the Lord then this will be a review. They should be deeply impressed that life is a person and that when they received this person they were born of God to be His child. Help him to go over these verses and write down all the references in their note book.
