Enjoying God as Life

Enjoying Life

We all want to enjoy life. We like being happy. Some people dream of being rich. They think money will make them happy. Others give themselves to having fun. Some seek happiness in achievement. But if we stop to think about it we all know that you can't buy happiness with money. Pleasure, when it is over, leaves you feeling empty. Even success does not give lasting satisfaction. In the end these things always seem to leave you with the feeling that something is missing.

Enjoying God

The missing element of human life is God. He wants us to enjoy Him. He made us in a way that can never be totally satisfied with less than Him. God wants us to have a life relationship with Him. He even wants to be our very life. Now let's see what this means.

A Life Relationship

Many people seek happiness in their relationships with others. The strongest relationship is a relationship of life. Consider a boy. Is he the son of his parents when he is good? Of course. Is he still their son when he is bad? Just as much! He is their son because he has their life, not because he is good or bad. Other boys may be better than their boy. Why don't the parents care the same for them? The other boys don't have their life. But the parents love their own son and care for him because he has their life. It is a life relationship.

Life is by Birth

A son receives his parents' life by birth. You receive life by being born. The Bible says, Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)

Notice the words "born" and "enter into the kingdom of God". Being born is a matter of life. You get life by being born. Furthermore, a life is related to a kingdom. The kind of life determines the kingdom: plant life, plant kingdom; animal life, animal kingdom; human life, human kingdom; God's life, God's kingdom. To get into the kingdom of God you must have God's life! If you do not have the life of God you cannot enter into the kingdom of God. You cannot enter the kingdom of God by being good. You must be born into it.

The next verse says, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3:6) In this verse are 2 births. How many births have you had? You have had one birth of the flesh so now you have a human life. You need another birth, a birth of the Spirit to get the divine life, the life of God. God is Spirit. You have a spirit. When your spirit is born of God you get the life of God.

Jesus is Life

Jesus said to him, I am the way and the reality and the life; (John 14:6) Jesus said, "I am the life." Jesus is life. Life is a person, Jesus. 2000 years ago God became a man, Jesus. He is life.

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; (John 11:25) Again Jesus said, "I am the life." What kind of life is He? He is God as life. Let's review the main points: To enter into the kingdom of God you must be born of God. By being born of God you receive His divine life and belong to Him. This life is a person, Jesus.

Receiving Jesus

He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. (1 John 5:12) To have life you must have the Son. This Son is Jesus. If you have Jesus, you have life. If you do not have Jesus, you do not have God's life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes into Him would not perish, but would have eternal life. (John 3:16) This verse has 2 parts: God's part and your part. God loved and He gave. You receive and you have. God loves you. His love has an action. He wants to give His Son to you. But you must receive in order to have. If I give you this booklet you must still receive it. If you do not receive it you do not have it. To get the life of God you must receive the Son. The Son is life. The Son and life always go together. To believe here means to receive. You get the life of God by receiving the Son.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become , (John 1:12) Here it speaks plainly about receiving Jesus. You must receive Jesus to become a child of God. A child of God is by life. Life is by birth.

Who were begotten (born) not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13) Here it tells you that when you have life, you are born of God because life is by birth. When you receive Jesus you have life and are born of God. This is how you are born of God and belong to Him. This is God's Word.

Now Let's Pray

"Lord Jesus, I open my heart to You. I receive You into my heart as my life and my Savior. Thank You Lord Jesus for Your life inside of me. Thank You that You give Yourself to me. Thank You that I am born of You. Amen"

If you open your whole heart to Jesus you receive Him as another life besides your human life. You receive the eternal life of God Himself. In Himself God is complete and perfect but in you He must be born. New life requires care and feeding in order to grow.
