Cassandra's Departure

On September 20th, 1998 a sixteen year old sister in the church in London was killed in a tragic car accident. Her name was Cassandra Leigh Froese. It wasn't until after her death that we discovered how rich her feelings toward the Lord were and how many lives she had touched. More than 300 people attended her funeral where some testified of her love for others and for the Lord that was manifest at home, at school, with the saints, and in the meetings.

Cassie's heart was full of feelings. So when she was 14 she began working on what she called, "My Wonderful Book of Poetry!" She wrote, "When I began writing these poems I did it to express my own personal feelings and emotions, since at the time I was experiencing some of my own hardships". Two days before she died Cassie also wrote a testimony of her experience with the Lord.

Cassie's writings open to us a window into her heart. In them we can see some of her hopes, dreams and aspirations. They also show us that she was one who knew the Lord in a real and living way. We are not trying to present Cassie as some kind of angel. She was in the middle of the struggles of being a normal teenager but at the same time she was learning to love the Lord. The Lord was so real and living to her that she wanted to share Him with many others.
